Do I Have to be a member to attend a pto board meeting?
Absolutely not, parents are welcome and encouraged to attend the PTO monthly meetings and to become involved in the life of the school
What does the PTO do?
Our purpose is to enhance students’ education by supporting student programs, making improvements to our school classrooms and grounds, hosting events and fostering communication between faculty and parents. We do this through fundraising and volunteering.
What can I do to help enhance my student’s education?
A key way to show support and involvement is by becoming a PTO member. Your membership helps support valuable enrichment programs and equipment that GVP otherwise could not afford. Through the PTO membership you can participate in your child’s education by volunteering for a committee, attending meetings, voting on important PTO decisions, and providing ideas and feedback. Whatever level of involvement you choose, your time and efforts shows your child that you care about their education.
Why is PTO membership important?
The more members we have, the more support the children in your school and community will receive.
What are the benefits of joining?
The PTO benefits parents as well as students/staff/school. PTO functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. Joining the PTO also means you get a “VOICE and a VOTE” in helping shape the education of your child at Greenvale Park. Every dollar we spend is debated and voted on by the membership at our meetings.
Who can join?
The Greenvale Park PTO is an inclusive organization that is open to all adults who care about children and schools. It is made up of parents, guardians, family, friends, teachers and members/business owners of the community.
How can I volunteer?
We have many opportunities for parents to volunteer and make a difference at the school. There are ways to help even if you work full time or have younger children in your care. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the volunteer form with your preferences.
How can I contribute?
There are various ways to contribute to the PTO to support Greenvale Park. The first is volunteering. You could attend a PTO meeting to learn more (all are welcome), sign up to participate on a project such as a fundraising effort, offer to help with a skill you have - for example graphic design. You don't have to commit long term, even a few hours of volunteering makes a huge difference.

There are some easy ways to help financially too. Shop at Amazon? Sign up on Amazon Smile and choose Greenvale Park PTO as your charitable organization. We are a 501(c)3 organization so every time you shop via Amazon Smile you'll be donating! How easy is that...

We also participate in Box Tops for Education. Just download the app on your phone and follow the steps to sign up. You just scan your receipts and help us save.

Shop in town at Family Fare? Simply bring your receipts to the school and we'll collect them. When we reach a goal, we get money back from Family Fare to use at the school.

If you have other ideas or suggestions, please chat with us. We'd love to hear from you.
I do not like fundraisers but I would like to support the PTO. What can I do?
